Lotta Green to see Al Green

When I did the post the other day that included the Al Green video (click here,) it reminded me of having seen him live and having spent the second most I’ve ever paid to see a performance. (The most I’ve ever paid goes to my ex whom I’m still paying for her performance as my first wife.)

Take Me To the River – Please!

A few years ago, I saw Rev. Al perform at the BB King Blues Club in New York’s Times Square so paying a lot was to be expected.  He was good/borderline great and I enjoyed his show.  However, at $175 a ticket and him singing for only a little over an hour with no encores, I thought his whole act was a little slack.   Just for fun I googled to see if there were any reviews of that show and sure enough I found one at the following link.  (Always like it when a reviewer echos my take on a show; tells me they know what they are doing.) click here.
But cost and time aside, my one biggest complaint about Rev. Al’s gig is that he did not perform my favorite tune of his which I found him doing  here in this DMB video.   (N.B. – Brother Dave has never been guilty of not giving his fans their money’s worth.)
