The Way

My friend Vicki Niedenthal’s sister Lisa is a movie producer who just completed working on a movie titled “The Way”  starring Emilio Estevez and his dad Martin Sheen.  Vicki invited Pam and me to a screening of the film yesterday in Silver Spring.  After the movie, Emilio and Martin were on hand to discuss it and to take questions from the audience.  (Sensing that they were mostly interested in discussing the movie, I refrained from asking them what Charlie was up to.)  The movie is scheduled for release this coming Friday.  It doesn’t have any sex, violence or car crashes in it, but I still enjoyed it.
On a serious note though, the whole father-son road trip thing resonated with me for obvious reasons.  Made me realize just how fortunate I was to have been able to do as much traveling with Buzzy as I did.  At the screening yesterday someone said “In life, if we are not on a pilgrimage, we are in between pilgrimages.”  (In case you’re wondering, Buzzy’s Country Store was open as Jennifer and Terri gave me the day off.  Thank you Jenny and Terri.)  If you’d like to read more about the movie click here.   I’ve also included below the movie trailer a short video documentary on the Santiago trail.
