The band Spirit played at St. Mary’s College in the early 70’s and I think they may have visited Buzzy’s Country Store earlier before their show. I say “think” because my source for this was Buzzy himself and he wasn’t 100% sure. He said that there were some long haired dudes in the Store during the afternoon but there was also a bald headed guy with them. That would have been their drummer Ed Cassidy. Later in the evening, I attended the concert and heard Jay Ferguson, their lead singer, discuss how beautiful the area was and how they had been down to the Point earlier where the Bay and the River met and enjoyed seeing that. So it makes sense that they stopped in the Store too. Always liked this song.
