St.Mary’s River Watershed Association will sponsor a fundraiser this Sunday 20 May at Woodlawn to raise money in support of the restoration of the St. Mary’s River and the Chesapeake Bay. Former Senator Bernie Fowler will be toasted for his efforts thru the years to clean up and preserve our waterways. (I doubt that Bernie will be wading into Calvert Creek which is not only deep but also has a somewhat mucky creek bottom that I know about first hand, er foot.) 
The affair costs $60 and includes brunch, the Gretchen Richie Jazz Cabaret, silent auction items, and libations such as Slack Wines’ award winning 2009 Petit Manseng under the signature label “A River Affair.” click here for full story and details.
