I’ve lost track of exactly how many times I have been a pall bearer but think I’m in the double digits. The combination of grandparents and all those uncles on Buzzy’s side of the family, made for several pall bearing stints. I then served for both my cousins Father John and his brother Charles Ridgell. And along the way, I was honored to have participated for friends such as Chuck Titus, Carl Lee Price and Joan Taylor Aud.
Today I will serve as a pall bearer for my cousin J. Frank Raley. It made me think about the whole pall bearing thing and I found this article that explains a lot about it click here. Guess the bottom line when it comes to being a pall bearer is that it’s always better to be a bearer than it is to be the borne.
