Years ago when Buzzy was still able to get around some, he and I visited Iz Swayre as he was constructing his home at the end of Airdele Road. Iz had been in the Store several times and he and Buzzy were friends. His house was still under construction when we visited, but Iz gave us the full tour to include the elevator that had just been installed. Iz invited Buzzy to be his first guest at riding up the elevator. I took the stairs up to the second level and as they came out of the elevator I overheard Iz asking Buzzy “Did you ever think you’d see an elevator in Ridge, Buzzy?” To which Buzzy replied “Can’t say that I did.”
The house and property are currently for sale @ $3.6M. Didn’t know that an elevator would add that much value.
