Back before Video on Demand, Pay Per View was the way to order up special T-V shows. The one and only time I did this was 20 years ago today.
I remember going by the cable company earlier in the day to pay for viewing the Dylan 30th Anniversary concert set for that night. As the young lady at the cable company took my money and arranged for the feed to be sent my way, she commented “Well this makes two of you who are going to watch it.” Sure would like to know who that other customer was.
I still have the VHS tape that I made of the concert. (No longer have a VHS player but still have VHS tapes that I’ve saved. Go figure.) From the 30th Anniversary concert, here is the finale of the concert featuring one of my numero uno favorite Dylan songs – My Back Pages.
