So today I turn 62. Why not a baby photo story for you then.
When I worked on Base in a previous life, the office I worked in sponsored a Baby Photo Contest. Each employee brought in his/her baby photo which was then numbered and posted on a bulletin board. The contest involved trying to guess who was who.

I brought mine in, gave it to the person running the contest and it was posted on the bulletin board along with the other baby photo’s. Later on in the morning, I was walking down the hall by the bulletin board where the pictures were displayed. Three ladies, oblivious to me walking behind them, were intently looking the photo’s over and making comments as to who they thought was who. As one of them pointed to my photo, she proclaimed “What a cute one there. Wonder who that is?” Her sidekick suggested that “Maybe it’s J..” To which the first lady replied, “No way, he’s too cute to be J.”
My Mom told me that this photo was taken at Pt. Lookout Hotel where a photographer had set up shop and was talking photographs of folks. My Mom said that I was not very cooperative at first and it wasn’t until the photographer gave me the rubber ducky that I quieted down long enough for him to take this photo. Ah yes, the tranquilizing powers of a rubber ducky.
Re: photographing kids, I would always think of Rodney’s reaction (below) whenever I ran into a situation where a little tyke wasn’t cooperative. I never responded as Rodney did here, but it was tempting to do so at times.
