In addition to surviving the crash in 1988 discussed in the article, Stan had an engine problem with the Fleet in 1993 and had to do an emergency landing in Ohio. Stan then called his friend Charlie Simms to help him out. Charlie went to Stan’s Dameron home, retrieved several tools and parts and then drove to Ohio to assist Stan in repairing the plane. Now that’s a good friend for you

While Buzzy’s Country Store has never had a fly-in, there have been many nights when folks have experienced their own variations of a “fly-out.”
