Sunday at Buzzy's

This past Sunday afternoon at Buzzy’s was a good one with its own version of what I call “home again.”  Warren “Brother” Burke, whose truck appears in the picture below, was there, home from his tugboat duties; Bart, who had just returned from a trip to Peru, and his cousin John Wayne Raley rolled in to talk old times with Beale Tilton who is up from Florida; Joe Salvo’s brother Tony and wife Susan joined the 4 O’clock Club – Charlie, Jerry, Clutch, John, Jimmy – along with Linda and Duncan, Sharon and Brian, Ned, Winkie, and JW to have a few drinks on the porch.  Greg Madjeski stopped by just off his Smith Island tour.

Later on, I had to slip out to pickup Grandkids Shawn and Lily and Jennifer took care of things while I did so.  However, when I returned, I noticed that Greg’s truck was gone and I thought it was unusual for him to have left so soon.

Jen informed me that Greg had gone to pickup the Demon (below.)  When Greg pulled back into Buzzy’s, Dickie was riding shotgun with him just like old times.  (They didn’t cut any donuts though.)  Fun day.

Like the fact that Buzzy’s continues to be a place where friends can relax and catch up.  The fact that today marks four years since Buzzy passed away makes days like Sunday special.  Days when friends who knew and loved him can continue to visit the Store, relax and have a good time.  Just the way he would have wanted it.
