I had previously stumbled upon Hussey’s General Store when doing a post about country stores featuring a “diversified” product base.  Hussey’s caught my eye because their store sign advertised “Guns, Wedding Gowns and Cold Beer”  (click here.)

So when Connie Adkins walked into Buzzy’s Country Store wearing a Hussey’s General Store shirt, I had to smile and ask her about it.  Turns out that Connie and husband Craig had gone to Maine for a wedding and she had visited Hussey’s.  Connie joked that if folks wanted to call her a hussey then “I’ve got the shirt to prove it.”   

Connie’s sister-in-law Jennifer picked up a t-shirt proclaiming “Wicked Pissah” which is New Englandese for “cool.”  Photo above shows Connie and Jennifer wearing the shirts from Maine.  Re: Wicked Pissah, I tried to think of a St. Mary’s County equivalent to it and could only come up with “Heard That.“  (“Deed by gawd” doesn’t make the Urban Dictionary and that might be a good thing.)
