Valentines Day – Hearts and ……

From the TMI file, I’m officially celebrating Valentine’s Day today with the c word as in colonoscopy. When I was in the process of scheduling it last month, the doctor’s receptionist noted that 14 Feb was available because it was Valentine’s Day and few people wanted to have it done on that day. Pam was with me at the time and I asked if she minded spending Valentine’s Day with me semi-laid up following the procedure. She refrained from any smart ass answer about probably not noticing anything too different than usual, so I went for it.

But (pun not intended) with all the laxative prep stuff the evening before and the nature of the procedure itself, wouldn’t you think that “modern” medicine by now, would have come up with some neato spleeto procedure to replace this roaming in the gloaming thing that they do now? (From the Google machine, it does sound like some progress is being made (click here.)

Following the procedure, I should be good for a couple more years. Maybe by then they’ll have a laser/scan/optic whatever procedure down, but (that word again) I doubt it.
