Reggie – Treat People Right

Last week I attended the funeral for Reggie Tarleton (click here for obit.)  Included in a handout provided at the church (right) were Reggie’s words of wisdom as recalled by each of his five children.  I thought they were worth passing along:

Dad’s words of wisdom
“Always do more than what’s expected.” (Karen)
“A little hard work never hurt anybody.” (Brian)
“We took it apart, we can put it back together.” (Rusty)
“Take some time and do it right the first time.” (Dale)
“Gardening is like life, there’s a lot of trial and error.” (Keith)
Another good comment made at the funeral came from Reggie’s son-in-law John Garner.  John noted that Reggie’s legacy would be a lifetime of showing people the right way to treat people right.  Sounds good doesn’t it – live your life by treating people right.  Wonder why for some people that is so difficult to do.
