Took Mike Raley to catch Huey Lewis at Wolf Trap last night. Here’s one he did not do but the video is worth checking out.
Video reminds me of a Don Martin cartoon I once saw in Mad Magazine. Don drew Robinson Crusoe saying to Friday “You know, we’ve been on this island for some time now. Let’s take the canoe and see what’s on the other side.” They then are shown rowing around the tip of the island. In the last cartoon panel they are both shown saying “Oh no!!” as they see that that side of the island is populated with people, condo’s, boardwalk, amusement park etc.. (I scrolled thru a collection Martin’s cartoons (click here) looking for this particular one but couldn’t find it. However, I did enjoy seeing his work again so it wasn’t time completely wasted.)
Here’s a useless little bit of trivia for you (I know, why else do you visit the Buzzyblog:) Before he began working for Mad Magazine, Don Martin was an illustrator of several album covers (click here) including this one for Miles Davis released in 1953. Glad he moved on to Mad Magazine.
