Here is a great photo that Linda Lepper passed along to me. It shows Arthur “Buck” Briscoe and Linda’s Great grandfather John Stephen Bean holding a wheelbarrow of fish at Bean’s Fishing Center. (It is now Corinthian Yacht Club on Wynne Road in Ridge.) Randy Guy (far left) and Linda’s Grandfather Stephen Edward Bean (in hat behind his Dad) are looking on with Captian Hike in the middle of the photo. Still trying to verify Hike’s last name which was something that began with L. All those fish made think of Hootie. Now there’s a good band name for you – Hike and the Rock Fish.
Did you know that Dylan sued Hootie for this song? I recall hearing Dan Patrick, who is in the video above, relating on his sports radio show awhile back how Darius Rucker and the boys were sitting around one day when their manager informed me them that Bob Dylan was on the phone and that he wanted $50,000 from them.
