Subtitle: “Hey Jeter, Get In the Batter’s Box So The Orioles Can Eliminate You.”
I haven’t wanted to jinx them so I’ve held off discussing the Nationals’ and the O’s ongoing success in trying to win their divisions and make it to the playoffs. However, now that both of their magic numbers for clinching are 10 or less and ESPN saying that their likelihood to make the playoffs is at 99.9%, I don’t think that even a mention in the Buzzyblog, as powerfully influential as that may be, can derail either of them.
That the O’s can and should clinch it while playing Derek Jeter’s Yankees makes it even nicer. Couldn’t happen to a better gay, uh I meant guy.
As to why I dislike Jeter so much stems from having watched his Human Rain Delay act at the plate all these years. I blame Jeter as the primary reason why a baseball game takes so long (click here for story) with all of his stepping out of the batter’s box prior to each pitch. Here is an example of him doing his b.s. act which he does on EVERY pitch. Watch as a good 30 seconds is expended on him just jagging around between pitches. Every time I see Jeter doing this, it pisses me off.
Some folks have asked me “How can you not like Derek Jeter?” To which I say “Simple, he’s over rated, and he’s a Yankee, what’s there to like?” Hope he enjoys watching the playoffs as he steps out of the box for good!
