The Ridge Boy Is Always Different But I Really Do Have an Orange Oriole Shirt Somewhere

Went to see the O’s Thursday with daughter-in-law Caitie and son Brady.  They took turns driving up and back while Caitie’s Dad Mickey and I did what old guys do, sat in the back seat and reminisced.  (We used to work together at the Supply department on Base many years ago and it’s always fun to re-visit some of the times we had not only at work but away from the office too.  Mickey has a much better memory than I do and brought up several incidents and events that I had either forgotten about or purged from the ole data bank.)

Great time and a great game.  O’s jumped out to a 6-0 lead that didn’t hold up.  The Reds came back and tied it up before JJ Hardy eventually sealed it with a two out hit that drove in the winning runs for the Orioles.

Somewhere during all this, Mickey even came up with a foul ball that he promptly presented to Caitie.

I was looking for a video of baseball fans and foul balls when I came upon this one featuring a number of entertaining baseball gif fails (click here.) When at Camden we always check out the marker on the warehouse wall showing Ken Griffey’s home run before the 1993 All Star game. Sort of hard to believe that since Camden was built in 1992, Griffey is still the only one to hit the wall and even that was during a home run contest.
