I think in song lyrics. So yesterday as I was puttering around the Store, and the T-V replayed the Ray Rice videos over and over, all I could think of was John Lennon’s contribution to “Getting Better” when he sang “I used to be cruel to my woman, I beat her and kept her apart from the things that she loved.” I read somewhere that John re-incorporated the getting better lyric in Beautiful Boy when he sang “It’s getting better and better every day.” With my Grandson named Shawn, Beautiful Boy still remains my favorite post-Beatles Lennon tune.
My second favorite tune of his however is this one in which he talks about a period in his life that I can sometimes relate to – just taking it easy and watching it from the sidelines. Nice video here, even if Yoko is in it.
