Years ago when the Super Bowl was played earlier in the afternoon, Buzzy would have a party. However, the T-V gods moved the game’s start time later and later on Sundays. The whole big screen T-V thing took over and eventually Buzzy didn’t bother trying to do anything party-wise.
Then when I took over in 07, I simply followed the Buzzy-plan and closed early on Super Bowl Sundays.
Enter Robin, my Tuesday/Sunday evenings clerk. When she asked me about having a Super Bowl party at the Store this Sunday I told her to go for it. She even offered to supply a large screen T-V for those of you who need to see your footballs big and bold as opposed to small and deflated. (Couldn’t resist saying that.)
Wink is whipping up some chilli, Clyde is doing something with some meat and I’m working on an oyster stew recipe that should be ready for prime time on Sunday. As Bob used to say “Come on down.” (If you don’t get that reference, it means you don’t qualify yet for the Old Fart’s Club.)
