On the topic of low points in one’s life (previous post,) I’ve had the not-so-fun experience of a women (or two) take a stroll out the door on me. Always thought that John did a pretty good job describing how that felt when he wrote this song for the movie Help.
Supposedly this was John during his “Dylan period” writing folksy tunes full of personal introspection. Here is Eddie Vedder’s version of Hide Your Love Away. (The I Am Sam soundtrack has an interesting story behind it about the movie’s producers being unable to acquire the rights to the Beatles’ original songs so they had other artist do covers of the songs that they wanted to use (click here.)
