Always regarded Charlie Rose as a K Mart Larry King. Larry I didn’t mind but Charlie just seemed like another one of those talk show interviewers who didn’t really move the needle one way or the other for me. Accordingly, I never cared for nor paid much attention to him.
However, I saw him the other night discussing his upbringing and my opinion of him improved immensely based upon the following:

From some Google searches, it looks like the Rose Gin and Supply store is still around in Henderson, North Carolina. (FYI – Gin = tools and not the gin you and I would first think of.)
