Not a big golf fan, but I always enjoy watching the Masters. Like most other casual golf fans, when viewing a golf tournament, I glance at who is in the lead, wait to see how far back Tiger is, and then change the channel.

However, with the Masters last weekend I tune in, not so much for the golfing and the golfers themselves, but for the scenery. (And by scenery I don’t just mean the golfers’ girl friends, although there’s something to be said about that also as witnessed by Lindsey’s appearance earlier in the week.)
But this year’s Masters had a feel good vibe about it just because it’s always cool to see some young guy smoke the competition as Spieth did. He’s an All American boy from Texas who even had his Mom and Dad there to root him on. Throw in a special needs sister and hey we got us a new super star – at least for this week and as long as he avoids those Perkins’ waitresses.
But to make the Spieth-good-dude-story even better, check out this WSJ article on how he met and ended up with a former 6th grade math teacher as his caddy (click here.)
P.S. When Tiger first won the Masters, he was 6 months younger than Spieth is now. That’s not so hard to believe because Tiger is/was Tiger. What is hard to believe however, is that Tiger did it in 1997 – 18 years ago! Where does the time go?)
Speaking of caddies, still one of the best movies ever made:
