Flashback Friday – History of Ridge Volunteer Fire Department

Can You Pick Out Capt. Jerry Norris?  (Hint – in the middle)

To followup on my Fire Department post of yesterday above is a photo on the cover of  a document that Bob Wright gave me – the History of the Ridge Fire Department 1948 – 1958.  It is something that Joe Cooper put together in recognition of the Fire Department’s first 50 years and will bring back some memories to those of you of a certain age i.e. as old as I am.   You can check it out (click here.)  (The booklet’s cover contains the above photo.)

Re: the photo on the cover someone told me that Stevie Pratt has the original copy of the above photo on display in his place the “old firehouse.”  If we can figure out how to do so, I’ll try and obtain a copy of the photo from Stevie, and put it up in the Store.  (This photo is also on display at Lexington Park’s Mission Barbeque on the right hand wall as you walk in.  If the Mission boys figured out a way to get a copy, Buzzy’s Country Store ought to be able to do so too.)  This copy is from the RVFD website.

Nice tribute to our firemen everywhere:
