When County Times’ photographer Frank Marquart dropped into Buzzy’s Country Store the other day, he told me that he wanted some photos for an upcoming article that they were doing on South County businesses. I said ok and agreed to let him take whatever he wanted. I’m old school/Donald Trumpish that any publicity is good publicity.
However, now that I see the County Times’ finished product, I might not have been so agreeable had I known that the front page photo would make it look like Buzzy’s is up for sale. Plus, the article inside the paper, with another photo of Buzzy’s, discusses how bad the business environment is here in South County (click here – go to Pg 13) and how South County businesses need to step it up in order to compete with the chain stores. I know I sound a little like those Republican Presidential candidates blaming the media here, but the next time the County Times wants some photos of Buzzy’s, I may have to ask them what kind of article are they doing.
