Speaking of steamboats (previous post) it reminded me of something I saw about the Piney Point Hotel which was located at Tolson’s Beach on Lighthouse Road. St. Mary’s forums had some interesting discussion on this awhile back (click here.)
At one time in the early 1900’s, Piney Point was the Ocean City of its day. The Piney Point Hotel was quite the spot as Presidents Monroe, Pierce and Teddy Roosevelt visited. Steamboats used to bring folks to stay at the resort.
