Post-cruise, Pam and I were having a triple celebration dinner with her folks there in Fort Lauderdale Sunday evening. (We were celebrating my birthday of last week, her Dad’s upcoming birthday on the 21st and of course Valentine’s Day which is why we had strawberry shortcake for desert.)
We were just in the process cutting that cake when we received an email from Southwest Airlines telling us that a Travel Advisory had been issued for Monday (today) when we were scheduled to fly home. Pam did some changing of flight plans and next thing you know we were airport bound to board a 10 p.m. flight back into BWI.
Made it ok, but as predicted, it began to snow just as we loaded our things into the car to head south. It then took us 4 long hours to get home. And speaking of 4, it was 4 a.m. when we finally stumbled into the hacienda here in the Point. First time in a very long time that I have seen 4 a.m. after having been up all day.
But like Buzzy always said, “If you’re going to travel, then you are going to run into some problems along the way.” (His catch phrase for dealing with those problems was always “A country boy WILL survive.”)
But overall it was a great trip, had lots of fun, saw lots of things, visited a lot of places and met a lot of folks. Those who travel are indeed life’s adventurers and it’s always nice to meet folks like that who are still out there going places and doing things.
Here are a couple photo’s that Brian took of us and since I noticed someone on Facebook wondering why he wasn’t in any of the photo’s, I included one I took of him with 3 very nice ladies.

No thorn-among-the-roses comments either! And since it was Valentine’s Day yesterday, how bout this tune for a bleary old day like today:
