Opening Day of NCAA Tournament/St. Paddy's Day

Opening day of the NCAA tourney today and it brings back a bitter sweet memory for me having to do with Buzzy.  Back in 2006 he wasn’t doing too well having been hit with a number of medical issues.  Several folks were contacting me saying that “Something needs to be done about Buzzy, he’s not well.  You should do something.”  Not knowing what exactly to do, I suggested to Buzzy that he let me watch the Store for him and he could take a break during the day before everyone rolled in.

On the opening day of the NCAA tourney in 2006 I took off from work on Base and rode down to the Store around 11 am.  Surprised to see me he asked what I was up to and I told him I was giving him the day off, that all I was going to do was watch basketball all day and I could certainly watch the Store for him while I did so.

He flipped the pages of the newspaper he was reading and simply said “That’s ok.  I don’t have anything else to do.”  And with that he sat reading the paper while I camped out and watched basketball for the next couple hours.  He never left from behind the counter.

Of course, this was the beginning of the beginning of me eventually buying the Store from him so like I say it is a bittersweet memory.

But hey, it’s St. Paddy’s Day so let’s look at the greener, brighter side of things.  When I arrived at the Store Tuesday following my weekly Budweiser delivery from Guy Distributing, I was pleased to see that they had sent me a stash of St. Patrick’s Day Bud Beads.  Here’s a photo of them:

However, when I turned one of the packages over and saw this (below,) I paused abit to think “That ain’t right.”
