Talking Baseball, Yogi and the Ghosts

One month into the baseball season and again the O’s and Nats seem to be connected somehow.  Both are leading their divisions, and both are playing well.  The Nationals can sometimes have  trouble scoring runs but the good news for them is that their pitching staff looks great and that bodes well for their future.  O’s pitching is not as good but they can put some runs on the board so they should be ok too.

Here are their records at the end of April.  Note the Runs Scored vs. Runs Allowed differentials.  Who is in better shape for the long haul?  Answer – always bet on pitching.  But as Yogi once said “Good pitching beats good hitting and vice versa.”

Good song here featuring lead singer Ray Parker Jr. who went on to do Ghostbusters.  (Speaking of betting – I bet that “Who you gonna call?” just ran thru your head.)

Regarding ghosts, Pt. Lookout Lighthouse holds their first Saturday Open House on 7 May. Put it on your calendar and then plan to stop in Buzzy’s for a real ghost story.
