Bob Nobel Prize Winner

http://thehill.com

I was in Paris when the Nobel boys announced that Bob had been selected to receive their award for literature.  Pam and I were having lunch in a café seated next to an older couple who were chatting away.  I didn’t have a clue what they were talking about until I over heard the gentleman say “Bob Dylan, oui! Excellente.”  I knew then what they were discussing.

In 1930 Sinclair Lewis was the first American to be awarded a Nobel Prize for Literature.  Only 10 others have succeeded him as noted in this article excerpt:

Good article here  (click here) on Bob sort of accepting the Nobel prize.  It also discusses how Jokerman, written in 1984, is just as relevant in today’s political morass as it was back then.   (Shouldn’t he be singing about Jokerwoman then?)

As you can see in the video below, JC, Adolph, Ronnie, the Kennedys, MLK and Dylan himself all make an appearance as the Jokerman.  It leads me to conclude that this was a quasi-followup to his Homesick Blues warning 50 years ago when he said “Don’t follow leaders.”  Happy Halloween.
