New Years Eve Buzzy Style

The Chinese have a saying “He is not a true world traveler until he has visited the Great Wall.”  Well, a variation of that may be “You have not truly celebrated New Year’s Eve until you have witnessed the Dropping of the 10 Ounce Bud at Buzzy’s.”

My about-to-be daughter-in-law Stephanie has her Dad Ed visiting here again for the holidays from the Keys.  Having attended last New Year’s Eve Buzzy Party, one of the first things he asked me was “Are you dropping the Bud again on New Year’s Eve?”  I assured him that we will be doing so.

We’ll start dropping at 5 p.m. to observe the welcoming of the New Year somewhere.  I think Athens, Greece is 7 hours ahead of us so they will be our first “somewhere.”  Each hour afterwards we will work our way east as we pop some champagne, knock back some hors d’ouevers and listen to some music.

This year we are going to do a Mardi Gras theme so bring your masks and beads.  Also, if you would like to dress up and style a bit, please do so.   Hey it’s New Year’s Eve so why not?!  (Pat and Linda Stover initiated this trend a few years back and while you need not go black tie formal, if you want to slip on some Sunday-go-to-Church clothes feel free to do so.)
