Indian Summer – Not Quite Yet

Average High Temp = 74 Degrees

With the above average warmer days that we have enjoyed these past couple weeks you may have heard references to Indian Summer.   We all know what that means – nice fall weather.

However, the nit picky among us are quick to point out that technically, it ain’t no Indian Summer (double negative intended.)

According to its “official” definition, a true Indian Summer only occurs after there has been a hard frost, which we have not had.   Also, according to the Old Farmers’ Almanac, there are some set dates in which an Indian Summer occurs.  Check this from the Almanac:

Bottom line, we still have an Indian Summer to look forward to and enjoy.

Next to Charlie Simms, my favorite Cherokee Indian is  Rita Coolidge. I saw her and Kris Kristofferson perform many moons ago at the old Stardust Club in Waldorf.  From what I can recall, Kris was very, very drunk and not too much on his game; but then again so was I and hence I can not be too critical of him.

However, I do remember Rita very clearly and yes, she was sexy as hell and sounded great.
