While we were in Maui, Ryan recommended Frida’s Restaurant in Lahaina. Great choice.
Named after Mexican artist Frida Kahlo the restaurant is a very lively and colorful place. Food is excellent as are the sunset views. Here is a photo of Ryan and me posing in front of the restaurant’s entry.

| Come On Frida – Smile a Little! |
Frida’s artwork reflects much of the tragedy and tumult in her life. Check out this slideshow of her art some of which is a bit gruesome. As you can see, it’s an understatement to say that she channeled the pain in her life into her art.
Frida’s life story was told in a 2002 movie starring Selma Hayek. Selma was nominated for Best Actress that year but lost out to Nicole Kidman for The Hours. Maybe Nicole should open an Australian restaurant in Maui!
