Believe it or not but on my way home from Buzzy’s Country Store each evening I listen to Sean Hannity’s radio show on Sirius’ Patriot Channel. I listen to him for a couple of different reasons but mostly because I just can not believe that he is as stupid as he appears to be.
I have come to the conclusion that Hannity is not that stupid and that his is just a clever act sort of like Colbert used to do on his Colbert Report. Even if I watch Hannity on his T-V show later in the evening I sometimes think that I detect a little twinkle in his eye occasionally that really says “I can’t believe people are actually buying this crap I’m saying!”
For me Hannity, like Rush Limbaugh, is just a slick charlatan who found the mother lode when he began telling his many right wing followers exactly what they wanted to hear.
Ted Koppel sussed Hannity out pretty good here in a recent interview. Go to the 1:40 mark in the video where Koppel tells Hannity that he is bad for America. (Hannity later mysteriously called it “fake edited news” although it all looked pretty real to me.) Stick with the video and it may surprise you when the narrator ends up being critical of Koppel and “scores one for Sean Hannity.”
