Each day I pass it and see it, and get a little sadder watching it slowly deteriorate. Like an old friend going down slowly, it’s very sad to see.
Several years ago there was a State Sponsored program to preserve old tobacco barns (click here for info.) Too bad this one was not able to take advantage of that effort.
Speaking of barns and The Band (previous post) the last verse from their King Harvest comes to mind:
Last year, this time, wasn’t no joke,
My whole barn went up in smoke.
My horse Jethro, well he went mad
And I can’t remember things bein so bad.
