Reagan Out West

When my youngest daughter Reagan told me a few years ago that she was scheduled to do a job-related rotation in San Diego my first thought was that she was going to love it and want to move out there.  I don’t know exactly why I thought that at the time, but something told me that Reagan was going to love it enough to want to move out there.

Turns out I was correct and while I can not exactly say that it was a case of Father Knows Best, nonetheless this particular intuition of mine was indeed correct.  When she completed her internship, Reagan accepted a job at North Island and moved out there the first of June.

Thus, when Brady began plotting out our annual baseball trip, San Diego and it’s Petco Park, which we have not previously visited, became the logical choice for this year’s trip.  Unlike other years when we visited ball parks in places like Cincinnati or Tampa, our wives did not express any interest in going with us.   However, this year with San Diego and L.A. on our itinerary, Pam and Caitie didn’t mind going with us.

Following our visit with Reagan we drove up the 105 to L.A. where we hit Angels Stadium and then Dodgers Stadium.  All in all, it was a great time as we got to spend time with Reagan and attend three ball games in three days.

I went looking for the Beach Boys’ California Girls tune but think this Gretchen one says it a little better.
