In my previous post I neglected to mention that there was something worth seeing in Venice Beach other than the beach and that was its basketball court. I hear you saying WTH but I say this because the court was the setting for the Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson scene in the classic movie White Men Can’t Jump.
In this scene just about every line said is a classic. “We going Sizzler” and “It’s like the luck of the Irish only I’m not Irish so you figure it out” are two samples from the clip below. Other great lines such as “Ain’t no thing but a chicken wing on a string” and “Don’t worry Sydney, I’ve hustled a hell of lot better players than you before” can be viewed in another clip (click here.)
