October would be my nomination for best month of the year. I could go Trumpian on you and extol how wonderfully tremendous October is but I won’t do that to you. Instead, click here to find, in addition to one listed above, 22 more reasons why this is true. To that list I would add a 24th reason that October is a great time to visit and sit out on Buzzy’s front porch drinking a refreshment or two.
Buzzy’s birthday was October 11th. Following 9/11 he’d make some joke about his day being 10/11 not 9/11. In the Buzzy family other birthday celebrants include:

Kim Wiley celebrates on 2 October, Charlie Simms on the 8th, Doug Byrne on the 9th, Robby Norris 12th, Chief Larry and Janet Whitt 15th, Joey Porter 17th, Pam Koon 22nd, Connie Lynch 25th, David Norris 28th, Winky the 29th, Ned Pratt and Bruce Price on the 31st.

Much of U2’s stuff always sounds a little too frantic and overly dramatic to me. While I enjoy listening to them, after awhile I feel like saying “Hey boys, lighten up and take it down a notch.” Their October song does just that.
