Today, while other businesses are conducting their Black Friday sales events, at Buzzy’s Country Store we will be partying. Let’s just call it Party Friday at Buzzy’s.
Starting around 1 o’clock, Joe Stone will be escorting his travelling road show party of friends and folks for their annual South County Crawl. It is always a fun time and my thanks to Joe for all his efforts in organizing and acting as tour guide for the group.
Later in the afternoon Rich Brewer has orchestrated a reunion of the Raley’s Softball Ball Team that in the 70’s featured one of the best lineups of softball players ever fielded in the County. I found this Enterprise article talking about Raley’s winning the Young Men’s Championship in 1978. Rich’s teammates voted him MVP on that team. (Note too, the mention of my cousin J.W. Raley hitting two homers in the championship game.)

Amidst all that testosterone today at Buzzy’s, we will also host Tricia Neal and Mary Garland Clarke along with their Aunt Leah Sterling and several other family members. Tricia Neal and Mary Garland sold their place on Harry James Creek and moved to Florida some time ago.
However, they return back home every other year at Thanksgiving time and drop into Buzzy’s Country Store when they do so. Come say hello to and catch up with them if you can.
Here is a photo I nicked from Mary’s FB page showing a summertime visit that they made several years ago:
Music-wise, I have always liked this Solomon Burke song Everybody Needs Somebody. However, its gained some new respect and appreciation from me because even the Amazon folks couldn’t mess it by up using it as a commercial!
