| Charlie and Bobby Proving That It’s 12 After 5 O’clock Somewhere |
I am going to replace the clock on the chimney in Buzzy’s Country Store. I would like to replace the current one with one of the old Guy Brothers’ Chevrolet clocks.
I called our County Commissioner President Randy Guy about a Guy Clock for Buzzy’s Country Store. Randy’s brother Pat Guy had told me that he thought Randy had one. I was going to offer to buy it. (This was iaw the Guy Chevrolet old time advice “Before you buy, shop at Guy’s.”)
Randy told me that while he did not have one of the clocks he would check around for me to see if he could locate one. Stay tuned. (Not that I don’t trust Randy to find me a Guy clock, but if any of you know how or where I might find one then please let me know.)
Rolling Stones’ second album was titled 12 x 5 because it contained 12 songs by 5 guys. The album contained a couple songs they wrote under their group name Nanker Phelge. Their keyboardist Ian Stewart was given a song credit under Nanker Phelge name. Ian was one of the original founders of the group before being demoted to road manager and session musician for them. The Stones manager Andrew Oldham felt that Ian, who was older and heavier than the rest of the group, did not fit the image that he wanted the Stones to project. Ian remained in the band unofficially and ultimately was inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame with the rest of the group in 1989. He plays the organ on this Nanker Phelge tune.
