Old Photos (Pt. 1)

One of my Buzzyblog New Year’s resolutions is to crank out some more of the old photos from his collection.  (Like most resolutions I’ll probably do well on this for a couple weeks and then slip back into my lazy ways of stupid jokes and music items so enjoy it while it lasts!)

First up Two Ridgells – a goateed Buzzy with Bud “Judge” Ridgell looking good as Santa Claus.

December 1982

Next is a photo from my sister Donna Jean’s and Jerry Taylor’s wedding party in 1973. Butch Yeatman is making his way thru the receiving line and what a receiving line it was!  From left to right are Jerry’s Groomsmen my brother Stevie, Randy Morris, Ralph Owens, Eddie Carroll and Mike Rollins. And speaking of characters at a party, remember my mentioning the inflatable doll Buzzy once had floating around?  Well, here are some photos of Mike Fenhagen, Winkie and Capt. Jimmy posing with her:

December 95

Also in the batch of photos showcasing the above doll was this photo with some very young looking folks.  (We were all young back then!) That’s Barbara Demko, Bart, Bobby Wright, Clutch Raley and someone I can’t identify standing behind Capt. Robbie.  Best I can recall Robbie had a boat somewhere in the area that he stayed on when he wasn’t at Buzzy’s drinking and telling sea stories.

From Buzzy’s 40th Anniversary party in 93 Sissy (Alice Raley) is posing here with Albert Wise:

Not sure what’s going on here in this 93 photo as Linda, Carol Norris, Jeff Mcdonald, Duncan, Bussy Wood, Robbie  and Buzzy look on:

Last but certainly not least here is 1985 photo of Tommy Knott and some folks.  Don’t know the couple but do recognize Gene Yarborough behind them in his white t shirt.  Now that I saw that, everyone in this pic is wearing white except Tommy.  He always was a colorful kinda guy!  (Note: if anybody recognizes any of the folks I couldn’t identify in the above photos please let me know.)

Watched the Linda Ronstadt movie last night and it was an excellent recap of how she grew up, got her start and became famous.  Little sad at the end showing her today with Parkinson’s and unable to perform but still worth watching.

In the movie someone called her the “female Jagger.”  However, note here in this video that Linda unlike Mick, hardly ever moved around when she performed.  With a voice like hers, she didn’t have to.  The very last note of this tune (4:00) always makes me smile.
