Holding the Ladder in the Dark

Wikipedia

Amidst all the coronavirus doom and gloom talk, there is still some humor out there even if it is sometimes on the dark side.

Some studies have shown that folks who appreciate dark humor tend to have higher IQ’s than those who do not get the joke.  Here is an excerpt from an article on this matter:

Speaking of dark, check out this video below from Barbara.  My Mom recently gave me a Striesand CD that I’ve been listening to as I drive to and from Buzzy’s Country Store every day.  With no radio sports talk to pre-occupy me and with all the news of the day being so depressing, Barbara’s been a nice diversion.

The following song on the CD caught my ear and made me want to learn more about it.  Turns out that it was written by Jim Steinman who also wrote Total Eclipse of the Heart.  (You can hear the similarities in the two songs.)

The video was filmed in 1984 and was the first MTV video Barbara did.  It also features Kris Kristofferson as her wayward lover whom she tells off “Whatever you got and whoever it was, I guess you couldn’t get it from me.”
