At Buzzy’s Country Store last week just before shutting down for the virus to run its course, I received a call from a lady who asked me if I had any toilet paper. Thinking she was joking I joked back “Yep. I got a whole room full of it.” She responded “Great! I’ll be right down to get some.” I then realized that she was serious and not just a prank caller.
I quickly informed her that I was being sarcastic and did not have any TP for sale. I followed up however by asking “Why would you think that Buzzy’s would have TP when no one else has it?” She laughed and said “Well I know how these little country stores can sometimes have things that the bigger places don’t have, so I thought I would call around to see what I could find.”
Of all the weirdness associated with the pandemic we find ourselves in, the TP piece of it may just be the weirdest. Weirdness aside however, it does make for some good jokes:
