From 15 years ago, here is the 2008 Buzzyblog post talking about celebrating my sister Donna’s 12 June birthday. I had forgotten that Buzzy made it down to the Store from Bayside Nursing Home to oversee Donna’s birthday celebration that afternoon. It would be the last time that he was behind the store counter.
Note – For those of you new to the Buzzyblog, Scheible’s is now Pier 450.
Speaking of the store counter, check out this pre-bedtime photo of Donna and me that Mom took and placed in her album. I have no clue as to why I am barefoot and in my pj’s ready for bed and Donna is not.
Musically I was never a big Queen fan and to this day still don’t own anything of theirs’ not even a greatest hits album/cd. Some of their stuff I did like; but overall I could never get past what a really dumb song Bohemian Rhapsody was even when Wayne’s World made it kinda cool to consider possibly liking it a little.
Having said all that though, this song from them will run thru my mind quite frequently whenever I think about family and close friends whose company I enjoy and value. I don’t tell them this enough – you’re my best friend. I really love you!
P.S. – If you click on the October 2008 link below you will see where I discuss Buzzy’s niece Lorraine Teefey also in Bayside rehabbing following her knew replacement surgery.
