Two Condolence Cards

Shortly after my Mom died in November 2020, I received several very nice condolence cards from various folks. Most of these cards were sent to my Piney Point home address.

However, I received two cards addressed to me at Buzzy’s Country Store. One was from Bruce Henry and one from John Hamill.

Note – Envelopes Were Same Color Too

I received both these cards on the same day. When I retrieved them from the mail box at the Store, I was struck with how similar both envelopes were, how they were both postmarked on the same day 13 November, and how they were both addressed identically to me “C/O Buzzy’s Country Store.” Even the return addresses appeared similar with just their last names of Henry and Hamill listed along with their respective addresses.

Their condolence cards inside the envelopes were similar also. Both contained not only a nice “sorry-about-your-loss” message but also personal notes from Bruce and John.

The similarities continued as they both wrote about how they had not known my Mom personally, but felt like they did from having read about her so often here on the Buzzyblog. As I read their cards and notes, it choked me up that they both had thought enough to write and send me such nice sentiments about my Mom. That I received the two of them at the same time also made me pause and think about how things happen like they do.

As with all of the condolence cards that I received following my Mom’s passing, I was very touched by the kind words of support. That said, Bruce and John’s notes about my Mom were probably the nicest of comments that I received during that trying time.

As for why it has taken me so long to pass this along to you, I kept hoping to get a photo of Bruce and John together in Buzzy’s and include that along with this writeup. However I haven’t managed to pull that off mostly because John usually drops in earlier when I am in the Store and Bruce tends to roll in later after I am gone for the day.

However, here is a photo of Bruce that Pat Adams gave me awhile back after seeing it in a recent fishing article in the County Times:

I have mentioned John several times previously here on the Buzzyblog (click here) and here (click here.)

And as if that “Twofer” isn’t enough for this Tuesday, here are a couple tunes from Aimee when she was part of the group Til Tuesday:

Til Tuesday’s first song was their biggest hit with the following video winning several MTV awards in 1985:

P.S. Other Bruce and John similarities include both of them having second homes on St. Jerome’s Creek, both having Dameron as their mailing address and of course both enjoying dropping into Buzzy’s Country Store whenever they can. Thank you Bruce and John for being a friend!
