Two’s at Burdines

Twofer Tuesday comes to you today via Marathon, Florida where I spent last week visiting Stephanie, Shea and my Grandkids Shawn, Lily and Emma. Shawn graduated from high school on 25 May and then turned 18 birthday on 2 June so I wanted to be there to help him celebrate. (The Memorial Day weekend monkey-wrenched my attending his graduation, but I did make it there for his birthday.)

The day after Pam, Brady and I arrived, we invited Shawn to go to lunch at his favorite restaurant. He suggested Burdines because “they have the best French Fries.” (Gotta love that when dealing with teenagers and dining out, the French Fries can be a make or break menu item.)

Burdines was a great choice however, and yes, the French Fries rocked. Some photos follow:

Later, Shawn took me for a jet ski tour of the Boot Key area and I grabbed this photo as we cruised past Burdines.

As for the license plates on the poles, we searched for a Maryland tag and while we did not see one, they had others from all over. I don’t know who these two are in the following photo that I nicked from Burdines FB page, but I think they are from Pennsylvania.

Just as we were saying that we would probably not find any license plates from Maryland because Maryland makes folks turn their old tags in, we spotted two on a corner pole near the bar. We then posed for the following photo:

Music-wise in the Conch Republic, you will hear alot of Bob Marley and of course tunes from the Margaritaville Fella. However, Kenny gets his fair share of radio play too. I know you have heard this a hundred times, but his brief intro is worth listening to:
