Lighthouse Weekend

Pt Lookout Lighthouse – 2020

National Lighthouse weekend and while it’s nice that St. Clements and Piney Point Lighthouses are getting some attention and publicity, it makes me ask – what’s up with Pt. Lookout Lighthouse?

Wayne Davis completed the renovations to the Pt. Lookout Lighthouse three years ago, (click here for previous Buzzyblog post on this) yet no ribbon cutting nor Grand Opening ceremonies have been held and the Lighthouse remains closed to the public.  What’s taking so long?

Someone told me that Maryland DNR folks are awaiting completion of the exhibits to be placed on display in the Lighthouse. One projection has it that the exhibits may not be ready until late next year.  Leads one to conclude that, given the time it is taking to create them, those must be some really great exhibits.

P.S.  To their credit DNR, has taken down the fences around Point Lookout Lighthouse and are allowing folks to roam around the building’s exterior.

Heard this tune in the van taking Pam and me to the airport from the hotel.  When I asked our Hispanic driver what the lady was singing he either didn’t understand my question or he didn’t know himself because he just shrugged and shook his head.   I think a lot of these van/taxi drivers purposely turn the music up just so they don’t have to converse with their passengers.   (It’s kinda like how Buzzy would turn up the radio when folks in the Store were getting on his nerves.)  Despite no help from the driver, I Shazammed the tune and learned that she’s Unstoppable.
