Busy Weekend

The upcoming weekend kicks off the holiday season with a number of Christmas-related events as listed in Visit St. Mary’s.

For example, today features a holiday event I hadn’t heard of previously – Greenwell State Park’s Holiday Horse Drive Thru. I like how they describe the event as being for folks who have mobility or health issues but “It is also perfect for people who prefer to stay in their vehicle.” Anything drive thru I prefer.

Friday evening at Donnie’s Ridge Hardware, he is hosting his annual Christmas Ladies Night soiree.

Saturday, Rob Seltzer has his Christmas Open House at Cecil’s Old Mill:

Quick little aside and commercial for Rob and his work. Pam and I were recently having dinner at SALT Waterfront Kitchen when one of our dining friends noted that the table we were seated at had a huge drill bit helping to hold it together. This prompted us to check out other nearby tables such as the following:

When we asked SALT owner Shawn Craig where he had found these unique tables, he told us “Rob at Herring Creek.” Next time you visit SALT be sure to check out Rob’s art work. Better still, drop by Rob’s on Saturday.

On Sunday Peggy and Cathy at Pier 450 are having an Open House & Holiday Gift Bazaar as follows:

As for events and places to check out, just remember that it is Ladies Night every night at Buzzy’s Country Store. Buzzy’s also has some local art work from Mary Lou Troutman and Joey Porter and other Christmas gift items for sale. As for drive thru horses however, you may want to hit Greenwell State Park today for that experience. (Then again, there are those who say that Buzzy’s also has its fair share of horses asses!)

Another indication that you have gotten old? After all those years of not particularly wanting to listen to him, Bing is starting to sound pretty good to me. Dammit!
