Cruising Into the Weekend South County Style

Fridays here on the Buzzyblog I usually post something about upcoming events for the weekend. This weekend, South County has several fun things for you to celebrate and say goodbye to the month of June.

The Smith Island Cruises have started back up with my buddy Captain Greg Madjeski now taking folks from Pt. Lookout Marina in Ridge across the Bay to and from the place that time has forgotten. (OK, that’s a little bit of hyperbole, but not too much so because Smith Island really IS a place like no other.) For cruise details and costs click here.

Couple other South County events are also slated for Friday:

On tap Saturday at St. Mary’s City, you can get your bow and arrow fix by attending the following. (OK, recognize that there is a “shaft” joke or pun to be made with all that, but right now I can’t target in on it!)

And on Sunday, the Ridge Rescue Squad will be serving up some breakfast for you. (Did they say Fried Apples?!)

And speaking of bidding goodbye to something (or in this case someone,) Number 1 Orioles’ Rock n Roll fan Joan will on hand tonight at Camden Yards to watch as the Orioles play the Texas Rangers and attempt to extend their current winning streak to 3 games. (Note that this Kerstad kid may just be on his way to becoming my new favorite Oriole. Why? We share the same birthday of 12 February albeit, his was in 1999, “only” 48 years subsequent to mine.

As always, any time is a good time to visit, sit out on Buzzy’s Country Store front porch and relax a bit. However, this Saturday may be an even better day and time to do so. Should you head south for any of the above, drop in and check it out!
