Tommy Courtney made it down to Buzzy’s Country Store yesterday afternoon to continue celebrating his 79th birthday. I say continue because his birthday was actually on Wednesday. While he couldn’t get down to Buzzy’s on Wednesday, he caught up with his Buzzy friends a day after his official b’day. (I purposely left the 20 Nov calendar up to commemorate the occasion even if Tommy wasn’t looking up for my photo of him.
Kim Peterson, on the other hand, managed to take this great photo of the 3 of us septuagenarians where Tommy posed and smiled. (Note that it felt good for a change to be the youngest member in a group photo.)
Speaking of 3’s, Bob Mann is only 76 and I’m 3 years behind him while Brother Tommy is 3 years ahead. Gives new meaning to “It comes in 3’s” right?)
Tommy visits Buzzy’s once a year. Hence, I have nicknamed him Tommy Claus because he only comes around once a year!
However, while I am always very happy to help Tommy celebrate his 20 November birthday, it always reminds me of Cousin John Wayne Raley whose birthday was also on 20 November. It makes me sad that he’s not around too. John would have notched 77 years this past Wednesday. Miss you John.
Don’t know if John Wayne ever made it to Jamica; but here’s a little reggae tune about some Uncle who was from there:
