The other day when I went looking for a video of Run Run Rudolph, I landed on this Home Alone scene of the family hustling out the door to get to the airport. Something was said about catching their flight on time and it made me think “Boy, those were the days.” See if you can find what it was that sparked this reaction:
It was Uncle Frank at :50 mark noting that there was no way that they were going to make their flight because the plane left in 45 minutes. Comments to the video pointed out some of what I was thinking:
It reminded me of someone in Buzzy’s Country Store discussing taking a flight to New York. “They wanted me there 2 hours before departure time; it takes me 2 hours to get to the airport. The flight is an hour and then it’s going to take me another hour and a half to get to where I want to be in New York. I can drive there in 6 hours! To hell with flying.”
Guess it is time to recycle the only TSA joke I know:
What is “TSA” an acronym for: Thousands Standing Around.
Been listening to Little Steven’s Underground Garage channel this week and this tune caught my ear. Don’t know that I had ever heard it previously, but it’s a keeper. You got James Brown, Mitch Ryder, J Geils Band (Peter Wolf) and Bob all rolled into one tune!
